SURVIVORS
"Survivors" is a series of paintings that explore the deep suffering and psychological scars left by war. Through these works, I seek to capture the essence of human trauma and how war affects not only the physical body, but also deep within the psyche of the individual.
Each painting in this series portrays individuals scarred by the experiences of war. Their faces, charged with pain and hopelessness, tell stories of loss, anguish, and resilience. This series explores the idea of psychological survival. The characters, though damaged and broken, show an inner struggle to keep their humanity intact. Their expressions, often punctuated by moments of introspection and vulnerability, suggest an ongoing journey of healing and recovery. This duality of suffering and hope is central to "Sobre-vivientes," underscoring the human capacity to resist and rebuild even in the most adverse circumstances.
Through "Sobre-vivientes" I invite the viewer to confront the reality of the suffering caused by war and to reflect on the resilience of the human spirit. These paintings are a testament to the devastating effects of conflict on the mind and soul, and a call for empathy and understanding for those who have lived through these experiences. The series seeks not only to document the damage, but also to celebrate the strength and perseverance of those who carry on despite the scars they bear.
