THE ECHOES OF CONTROL

The Echoes of Control series explores the enslavement of thought and the manipulation of the system in the face of human frailty. This collection examines how external influences and power structures shape and restrict our mental and emotional freedom, leaving lasting echoes in our lives.
Each work in the series features a central figure trapped within symbolic contexts that reflect mental and emotional oppression. Images of scales, once used as a protective object, are now used as a kind of mechanical puppet transformed into an instrument of manipulation, while worn iron, metal and fragmented beams suggest the pervasive presence of manipulative forces. These visual elements act as metaphors for the invisible chains that bind us, highlighting how society, media and power systems condition our perception and thinking.
The characters' expressions range from despair to resignation, capturing the range of emotions experienced under the influence of these oppressive forces. The backgrounds of the paintings, filled with repetitive elements and patterns, suggest the pervasiveness and persistence of systemic control.
Through this series I invite the viewer to consider the nature of their own mental freedom. How much of what we think and feel is actually under our control? "Echoes of Control" is a visual meditation on the constant and often imperceptible influence that external systems have on us, and a call for awareness and resistance in the face of these forces.
